Song of the Phoenix: Voices of Comfort and Healing from the Afterlife by Lily Fairchilde Average Rating: "Having dealt with the loss of my mother about two years ago, I have questioned the existence of life after death. On a lark, I purchased Lily Fairchilde's book and was amazed by how much it affected me. Ms. Fairchilde's contacts with the dead are informative, fascinating and completely absorbing. She has converted a non-believer into a believer." Publisher: St Martins Pr | More reviews: amazon.com
Wheels of a Soul: Reincarnation and Kabbalah by Rav P.S. Berg Average Rating: "This book tells us nothing about Kabbalah, or about reincarnation. Rather, it only tells us about Berg's brand-new religion that is attempting to create.
Frankly, all of Berg's books on Kabbalah are full of terrible translations, censored and edited texts, and horrible commentary. His "explanations" are rejected by all Jewish authorities, Orthodox and non-Orthodox, religious and academic. Berg is attempting to create a non-Jewish and for-profit version of Kabbalah, and it is just embarassing. Instead of reading his nonsense, please check out books on this subject by real authorities and good writers:
Read, for instance, "The Jewish Mystical Tradition", by Ben Zion Bokser; "Major Trends in Jewish Mysticism", by Gershom Scholem; "Zohar: Annotated & Explained" by Daniel Chanan Matt and Andrew Harvey
I would also suggest "The Wisdom of The Zohar: An Anthology of Texts", Ed. Isaiah Tishby, and translated from the Hebrew by David Goldstein.

Children of the Light: The Startling and Inspiring Truth about Children's Near-Death Experiences a by Brad Steiger Average Rating: "A fascinating look into near-death experiences in children that will make you hopeful about what awaits us in the next life, and will get you thinking more about how you live in this life. As you can guess, the book raises more questions than it is able to answer. But rather than try to force an explanation the author accepts this and leaves room for each of us to draw some of our own conclusions. It's an easy, thought-provoking read that dares to go against some of the cold, scientific cynicism so common in our society today." Publisher: Signet | More reviews: amazon.com
The Case for Heaven by Mally Cox-Chapman Average Rating: "I started to read this book when my mother was dying. I can honestly say it is one of the only things that pulled me through when she died. I know that my mother is safe and happier now than she has ever been before. Thanks Mally Cox-Chapman!" Publisher: Tide-Mark Press | More reviews: amazon.com

Dion Fortune's Book Of The Dead by Dion Fortune Average Rating: "Dion Fortune's Book Of The Dead is a metaphysical and mystical guide to understanding and accepting the transitions that come with death, how to help the dead on their journey and avoid hindering the soul, how to prepare oneself for dying or the loss of the loved one, and how to grieve. Chapters discuss the journey of the soul beyond life, why it is improper to seek to contact the dead under most circumstances, and offers simple advice in contemporary language as to what the living can do for the dying and why. Originally published as "Through the Gates of Death" in 1930, then in a revised edition in 1995, Dion Fortune's Book Of The Dead retains the timely wisdom of psychologist and psychic Dion Fortune (1891-1946), recognized as one of the most insightful contributors to 20th century esoteric thought.

Journeys Into Past Lives by Denise Linn Average Rating: "I pre-ordered these tapes as soon as I heard about them, after reading Past Lives, Present Dreams by Denise Linn. The cassettes are experiential, as opposed to the intellectual exercise of *merely* reading a book. Denise guides you through exercises in which you touch the past. You access past lives which concern your current problems and situations. Examples are given of how dissolving emotional blockages which you have carried into this life with you can change relationships of today! Not being sure I believe in reincarnation, still I knew that dissolving emotional blockages can only be a good thing. I *saw* a life that I loved-I loved my community and my friends and most of all my wife. I did not want to pass out of that life because I felt that I had to be there to take care of my wife, she would not be alright unless I was with her.I used Denise's techniques to go back and "change" the outcome. My personal testimony is necessary to review the tapes because I can vouch for the fact that they are unbelievably powerful. Within two weeks I was contacted by the daughter I had given up for adoption (in this life) who must have been the *wife* of the former lifetime. Of course I had always thought that she could never be alright if I wasn't with her to take care of her. If you're reading this review, you must be considering Denise Linn's tapes. They changed my life more than I ever dreamed they could." Publisher: Hay House | More reviews: amazon.com
Letters from the Light: An Afterlife Journal from the Self-Lighted World by Elsa Barker Average Rating: "I agree with the editor who says that this account is more believable than most of the new-age channeling books out today. The account is totally believable but I wish there was a little bit more from Elsa; apparently she knew Judge Hatch for six years and I would have liked a deeper analysis from her on the letters.Kathy Kart's editing is also a bit obvious. I wish I could read the original text but I understand that she felt it necessary to make the letters as available to the modern reader as possible.Regarding the title: I believe that the letters are genuine and that Judge Hatch's travelogue from the other side describes his experience there. But like he said (and I'm paraphrasing here) 'most people have the experience here that they're expecting to have.' If that doesn't throw the ball back in your court, I don't know what does. This is good news or bad news depending on your thinking...Good luck. :-)" Publisher: Beyond Words Publishing | More reviews: amazon.com
Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook: A Manual for the Art of Retrieval and Afterlife Exploration (Exploring the Afterlife) by Bruce Moen Average Rating: "This was the first book I ever read by Bruce Moen. I decided on this one, because it was the latest, and figured he had "perfected" his techniques by now. :) I ended up feeling it was not the best book to start off with. There were many exercises in it that apparently went with a CD not included. Thus, they were basically wasted, because the exercise instructions tended to be long and involved, and just reading them did not work. I'm guessing the CD is available at his website which he mentions, but it really should have been included with the book. It was interesting to read a metaphysical book by an engineer type, however.
