Past Lives, Present Miracles: The Most Empowering Book on Reincarnation You'll Ever Read...in this Lifetime!

by Denise Linn

Average Rating:Average rating of 4/5

"Like the tagline says, this IS one of the most empowering books on reincarnation you will read in this lifetime! This book was previously released under the name Past Lives Present Dreams, but Denise had added new parts and revised some others, so if you are a Denise Linn fan, it is worth buying the new one (plus the cover is pretty!). If you are new to your study of past lives OR deepening your study, then this book is a must have.

Denise shares her story of her Near Death Experience and how it relates to past life exploration. She then shares tips, techniques and more for delving into your own past lives. Not only does tell you how to discover your past lives, she teaches you how to change them.

Yes, you can change the past...grab this book and learn how. This truly is one of those books that will bring you so much peace...

We Live Forever: The Real Truth About Death

We Live Forever: The Real Truth About Death

by P. M. H. Atwater

Average Rating:Average rating of 4/5

"What is the afterlife like? That's what I want to know. I want to read anything that will tell me.

This book leaves me wanting a lot more. It touches on the question, but doesn't give enough substance.

It tells us that there are a dozen heavens, a dozen hells, and many realms that are finer than heaven. That is the closest it comes to telling us what the afterlife is like. But that is clearly not enough.

How do you know there are a dozen hells? Describe each one. Make us feel what it is like to be there. The same for the heavens. Make each one of them real for us. Make them so real that we will be able to recognize which one suits us best. It's too easy to say there are a dozen of them. That means nothing to me. It's just words without a real connection.

And if there are a dozen of them, what makes you think that you will see your loved ones in the one you are going to. They may just as well be in another one.

We're told that there are eleven levels in the afterlife. The ninth is "the end of manifest vibratory creation". The tenth is "the void, nonvibratory or pure consciousness". The eleventh, the highest, is "full at-one-ment and entry into states of consciousness beyond human comprehension".

Tell me something. Is this supposed to mean something to me? What the hell is the end of manifest vibratory creation? Do you understand what I'm saying? This book is throwing words at me, and they don't mean anything to me. I want to feel and understand this.

And don't start telling me it is beyond human comprehension. You are writing a book to be read by humans. We comprehend things. Make us feel it. Get beyond occult-speak and make it a real and meaningful experience for us.

The problem seems to be that the author really doesn't know, and the thousands of people she interviewed really don't know, what the afterlife is like. But with thousands of interviews with people who have been there, I would hope for more, and I would expect more.

Contrast this book with the first two books by Michael Newton, called Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls. Those books are full of detail on the afterlife. There is so much more "meat and potatoes" in those two books. They fill you up a lot better.

My biggest problem with the Michael Newton books is that nobody else wrote a book corroborating his findings. Detail is there in abundance. I'm waiting for one of his proteges to write a book that expands on his, and gives us a lot of new material.

The Newton books also make me feel more empowered. They make the afterlife seem like a place where we actually have some control over what happens. It's a place I can't wait to arrive at and enjoy. As for the afterlife in We Live Forever, it feels too impersonal and unsatisfying to me. I didn't even get one good view of one of the heavens. Why would it be meaningful to me to be told that there are 12 of them, and I don't know what any one of them is like.

The really frustrating part of it is that I don't think the author knows either. If she does, what do I have to do to get her to tell me? If she knows a lot more than she revealed in this book, I feel like shouting at her that she really has to consult with me before writing any more books, because she is missing the boat.

If she really knows something, her next book would be a hundred times better than this one if it is simply an interview with me questioning her. I'd bring her out, and elicit the important information. That's why this book leaves me unsatisfied."

They Walked with Jesus: Past Life Experiences with Christ

They Walked with Jesus: Past Life Experiences with Christ

by Dolores Cannon

Average Rating:Average rating of 5/5

"Another great effort from Dolores Cannon. This book details two hypnotically regressed past lives that were touched and inspired by Jesus, the man. The first subject had a much shorter, but still inspired contact with Jesus that left a "glow" in its aftermath. The other subject shared a more in-depth involvement, which included objective yet heart warming observations of the man with a heart of Go(l)d who cared for the uncared. The regresee, in her own inspirational manner, learned and took up the meaning of Jesus' teaching to love and be compassionate to the less fortunate. This book gives little known glimpses of Jesus' mission and destiny in that incarnation, not so much as the "Son of God", but as man relating to his fellow-man.This book does not market religion or any brand of religion. So for those of you who, like I, have wanted to know more about Jesus, the man; Jesus the evolved soul; and his purpose and life on earth; Read On."

The Awakening Heart: My Continuining Journey To Love

The Awakening Heart: My Continuining Journey To Love

by Betty J. Eadie

Average Rating:Average rating of 4/5

"I loved "Embraced By the Light". It changed my life and way of thinking! "Awakening Heart" did not have the same effect until the end of the book. "Embraced By the Light" challenged old belief systems that were not working in my life and really made me stop and think and want to learn more. "Awkening Heart" seemed redundant until the end, where new information was given. Overall, it is worth the read.I can't wait to read Betty's latest book."

Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook: A Manual for the Art of Retrieval and Afterlife Exploration (Exploring the Afterlife)

Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook: A Manual for the Art of Retrieval and Afterlife Exploration (Exploring the Afterlife)

by Bruce Moen

Average Rating:Average rating of 4.5/5

"This was the first book I ever read by Bruce Moen. I decided on this one, because it was the latest, and figured he had "perfected" his techniques by now. :) I ended up feeling it was not the best book to start off with. There were many exercises in it that apparently went with a CD not included. Thus, they were basically wasted, because the exercise instructions tended to be long and involved, and just reading them did not work. I'm guessing the CD is available at his website which he mentions, but it really should have been included with the book. It was interesting to read a metaphysical book by an engineer type, however. Healing the Eternal Soul: Insights from Past Life and Spiritual Regression

Healing the Eternal Soul: Insights from Past Life and Spiritual Regression

by Andy Tomlinson

Average Rating:Average rating of 5/5

"I cannot recommend this book too highly. Tomlinson is thorough and thoughtful, with a real heart to see people healed and growing spiritually. He covers everything from the fine points of regression to the practicality of a client needing to use the toilet. I have read many texts on regression, and worked as a therapist. Tomlinson's book is one of the best on the subject. If you are going to do regression therapy, or if you are currently doing it, this book is a "must read"."

Karma and Reincarnation: The Wisdom of Yogananda, Volume 2

Karma and Reincarnation: The Wisdom of Yogananda, Volume 2

by Paramhansa Yogananda

Average Rating:Average rating of 4/5

"I give this only 1 star as it is simply Swami Kryriananda's copying some of Paramhansa's writings, which one can get without making money for an in-between. However, what irritated me was no where in the ad for this book was it said that this book came from a former member of Yogananda's organization who had gone out on his own and is now making money from merely repeating his guru's words without stating anywhere on the book that this comes from not Yogananda, but from a man who would not state openly that he makes it appear that this comes directly from Yognanda and not from his copying it. Other Lives, Other Selves: A Jungian Psychotherapist Discovers Past Lives

Other Lives, Other Selves: A Jungian Psychotherapist Discovers Past Lives

by Roger J. Woolger

Average Rating:Average rating of 4/5

"Ever since I had a Near-Death Experience, 25 years ago, I strongly believe that we are here on Earth on a regular basis, i.e., that we reincarnate. I have gone thru past-lives therapy and found its deep usefulness. All this led me to collect and study most books on reincarnation I could read. When I found Other Lives, Other Selves, I suddenly felt that I had spent too much money on too many books! This is the only book I'd buy if I had had a chance to browse thru all my 100-plus library on reincarnation. The fact that he is a Jungian psychotherapist does not hurt, because he adds to Jung's positions the rich and vast body of knowledge provided by PLT. Look no further: this IS the only book on reincarnation and past-lives therapy you'll ever need."

Parallel Lifetimes: Fluctuations in the Quantum Field (Fireside Series, Vol. 3, No. 3) (Fireside)

Parallel Lifetimes: Fluctuations in the Quantum Field (Fireside Series, Vol. 3, No. 3) (Fireside)

by Ramtha

Average Rating:Average rating of 4/5

"There are number of Ramtha's books from Fireside series that would be non-sensical and incomprehensible to someone who has not had corresponding experiences, because the person has no reference point. As the other reviewer pointed - it would come across as "psychobabble". It's pretty much like describing how the ice-cream tastes to someone who has never tasted an ice-cream. It would be entirely meaningless.

It was amusing to me over the years as I shared the book "Life and Teaching of the Masters of the Far East" - and some got inspired, some got nothing out of it, and some used the information and knowledge for purposes that never entered my mind at a time. One person with whom I shared those books, used the knowledge to win the lottery.

Many years before I came across this book "Parallel Lifetimes", I too, used this process of "shifting into another lifetime" to get myself into the right state of mind to win at the games of chance. It worked.

This may make far more sense to people who are familiar with Time-Lines (a technique from Neuro-Linguistic Programming), which I have used on numerous occasions to get extraordinary results - even for the purpose of instant healing of conditions that were considered incurable.

If you are familiar with hypnosis, working with mind-power, you'll know that the essence of hypnosis lies in playing well the game of "pretending". In this process of "pretending" you subjectively shift into another reality - where that which you desire to experience is "real" for you now. For your subconscious mind the difference between "real" and "imaginary" is not based on what is "inside of you" or "outsie of you", but what FEELS SUBJECTIVELY REAL to you. Whatever "feels" real for you becomes actualized in your outer experience - the "outer" being only an "effect" of the inner.

This is practically the opposite view of commonly accepted worldview, but to the one who chooses to simply pay attention to his thoughts and to his experiences in the outer world, this becomes soon very obvious. There are those who are just philosophers and those who choose to engage in personal experiments and learn how they can intentionally use the power of their minds to create what they desire.

There is a practical purpose in experimenting with shifting consciously into what may be called a parallel lifetime (that, again is the essence of working with NLP technique of working with Time-Lines) - it helps to engage in the game of "pretending" easier by dropping all the limitations in one shot, or at least as many limitations as are obstructing the achievement of the outcome that are important to the individual to experience - an example of that may be healing a terminal illness.

Ramtha's books from the Fireside Collection, do not guide you through any specific techniques, so if you're looking for "how to" books, you may be disappointed. If you're looking for "how to" book, you may get much more out of books such as "Adventures with Time-Lines". Ramtha's books are also not pointing out any "new truths" - just the same spiritual truths that have been around for thousands of years, in a new light, using a little bit different language.

Quantum physics is now considered "scientific", while spiritual and metaphysical truths were not considered "scientific" and some people find this different language and explanations more helpful. On the other hand, no matter what language is used, the only way anyone will ever get any practical benefit from any of the teachings and ideas is through personal application and experimentation. There is no way one is ever going to truly know something without experiencing it.

Sometimes people enjoy cultivating an idea that once they apply some ideas they will overnight become something entirely different or that perhaps working with parallel lifetimes, they'll wake up tomorrow and find themselves living on another planet, in another century, being someone else or something to that effect. What will more likely happen is that as you shift into another state of consciousness, as your perception of the world changes (and that can change overnight), your experience of the world will change. And in that respect, you may also pick A Course in Miracles and if you wholeheartedly work with it for one year, your experience of reality will turn upside down.

The essence of this little book is that with each shift in consciousness you make, you are embarking upon and traveling upon a new time-line. Each time you make a decision which way to go, you are choosing a destination, a path, and each path, each choice, constitutes one possible lifetime.
