Past Life Regression: A Guide for Practitioners by Mary Lee LaBay Average Rating: "
This book should become a classical text for Regression Therapists! It has helped me tremendously, explaining in clear, easy-to-follow language exactly how to conduct a session, and what it takes to be a good therapist. Mary LaBay includes Scripts, techniques, actual case studies and a plethora of useful information. This is truly one of THE best investments you can make if you'd like to include regression therapy in your work. I have been using it a while now and with complete success.
As a hypnotherapist interested in working more with regression therapy, this book was recommended to me, and it is a classic in my personal library now. I refer to it over & over. This is not simply for the curious... this text is for the serious therapist who wants to become exceptional. 5 stars! " Publisher: Trafford Publishing | More reviews: amazon.com
One Soul, Many Lives: First Hand Stories of Reincarnation and the Striking Evidence of Past Lives by Roy Stemman Average Rating: "If you're just getting into reading about reincarnation, this book is probably a good place to start. Many sources are mentioned and compiled in one volume of very interesting stories.
However, if you've already done some reading on the subject, you'll probably find that many of the stories are familiar. People who've been into reincarnation for a while would probably do better to read the books that these stories are taken from.
The book is also riddled with typos, so I'm not going to give it any more than 3 stars. In the era of spell-checking software, there's no reason for any book to spell "was" as "wass"." Publisher: Ulysses Press | More reviews: amazon.com
Soul Mates : Understanding Relationships Across Time by Richard Webster Average Rating: "This is an AMAZING book! I cannot praise it highly enough. I am currently reading it for the second time, and don't doubt that I will read it many more times, simply because it is both informative and encouraging. Webster reassures us that there really is someone out there for everyone, and that all we need to do is prepare ourselves on the five levels, and remain positively expectant. Our own karmic bond with the other person will do the rest. He includes stories about numerous people he has taken back to their past lives, as well as helpful explanations of the law of karma, the history of past lives, and what a soul mate actually is. There are also various exercises to release any baggage that may be standing in your way, and to strengthen your magnetic connection with your soul mate, whom you may not have met.
I have read many books on relationships and how to make them work, and none of them have been more helpful, more reassuring, or simpler than this one. It comes VERY highly recommended by me! If you have been in search of a well rounded, well written book on the subject of soul mates, your quest will end here." Publisher: Llewellyn Publications | More reviews: amazon.com
Past Lives, Future Healing: A Psychic Reveals the Secrets to Good Health and Great Relationships by Sylvia Browne Average Rating: "While I normally enjoy the works of the humorous psychic Sylvia Browne and also enjoy the whole New Age genre, I feel that I must speak up about this title. Sylvia Browne includes several case studies in this book about how people's past lives have caused them to suffer from related phobias in their present lives. The book goes along nicely - until Sylvia alleges that one woman's current fear of fire was caused by her having been "burned as a witch" in Salem, Massachusetts. However, as any schoolchild who has ever had to read about the Salem Witch Trials can tell you, THERE WERE NO people burned as witches in Salem, Massachusetts! That may have been customary in Europe but it did not happen in Salem. Almost all of the convicted "witches" were HUNG in Salem; and one poor man, Giles Corey, was pressed to death with rocks. But nobody was burned at the stake in Salem, Sylvia! I strongly recommend that you - and especially your publisher - check your historical facts before putting a story like this out before the public as "truth" again!" Reiki The Ultimate Guide Vol. 4 Past Lives & Soul Retrieval Remove Psychic Debris & Heal Your Life (Reiki - The Ultimate Guide) by Steve Murray Average Rating: "In this book, Steve shows us how to perform past life and soul retrieval sessions on ourselves or a client, with and without Reiki, so you don't have to be a Reiki practitioner to use this tool. The step-by-step instructions and illustrations make it super easy for a novice to use, though the techniques would not be considered lesser by the more experienced. If you've tried everything else, and you still have your ailments, try releasing yourself from your past! I think you'll be amazed at how easy, effective and fast the techniques and results are." How To Uncover Your Past Lives (Llewellyn's How to) by Ted Andrews Average Rating: "This is a helpful book written in a very straight-foward manner. In addition to offering a number of insights into the meaning of various aspects of the standard reincarnation model, the author presents a current perspective on the psychology of using these methods and on the necessity of pointing the insights so gained towards helping with the management of current-life circumstances. One thing the author does not mention is that there is a great deal of time that must be spent by a person, more or less in solitude, in implementing the techniques to obtain an effect. Another thing is that although many of the procedures point to ways in which information can be obtained about past-lives the resulting effect is quite different from actually entering into those lives (instances of the higher-self as it were. To give it its due however, some differentiation is made using the left-brain right-brain model to posit intellectual as opposed to emotional "facts". The work is really about "opening doors" rather than "going through them". On the whole however, this is a very useful book and well worth the very modest sum of money required to buy it. There are a lot of books priced very much higher that deliver much less." Publisher: Llewellyn Publications | More reviews: amazon.com
Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation: Second Edition, Revised and Enlarged by Ian Stevenson Average Rating: "Well, well, well...no stars are enough for this book. It seems the word belief does not exist in Dr Stevenson's dictionary , and with clinical detachment, he has investigated each and every of the 20 cases. He has avoided philosophy and religion talk etc and does not have his own agenda which he his trying to promote. There are many books on reincarnation written by those who want to make a quick buck, or those promoting a particular religious thought or simply to become popular and appear on talk shows and then charge people (gullible) on an hourly basis. Dr Stevenson is not driven by any such factor. Reading his methodolgy, he has actually gone about the research as any skeptic would. He has not believed the case story and then looked for evidence that would support such a case story, he has looked for the evidence any skeptic would. The presentation of evidence gathered is fantastic showing the corroboration of each evidence. The best thing I liked about his research was that he actually attempts to rule out any fraud in each case story. Unbiased and honest. The use of the word "suggestive" speaks for his style used in the book throughout. He does not attempt to force any philosophical, religious thought down the reader's throat. You are free to make your own conclusions....and yes, it is DARN RIGHT CONVINCING !" Publisher: University Press of Virginia | More reviews: amazon.com
Suicide: What Really Happens in the Afterlife? by Jon Klimo Average Rating: "Contrary to the review by Christian Wilski, there is valid evidence challenging the orthodox theory that consciousness is an epiphenomenon of the brain. The evidence suggests that consciousness *might* survive bodily death. This evidence includes studies of near-death experiences (including during the clinical definition of brain death), experiences suggestive of reincarnation, laboratory studies of mind-to-mind communication at a distance (including recent studies using functional MRI that confirm the results of earlier EEG experiments), experimental studies of mediumship, and so on. The cumulative data is substantial and the arguments more sophisticated than most dismissive skeptics would like to believe. Ultimately, whether one accepts the evidence or not is a matter of personal interpretation, but IF the unorthodox concept of some sort of life after death is true, then the Klimo/Heath book asks a perfectly reasonable question: What are the after-life consequences of committing suicide? The answer may surprise you." Publisher: North Atlantic Books | More reviews: amazon.com
Born Again: Reincarnation Cases Involving International Celebrities, India's Political Legends and Film Stars by MD Walter Semkiw Average Rating: "This will be just a short review to say that this truly is a brilliant book. It is written in an academic manner with plenty of supporting evidence and research. Nothing is made up or fictional, it is all supported by well research evidence and the book was written by an obviously very intelligencet and extradionary read author.
Books like these can help change humanity and better it. It's simple if reincarnation is true, we will have to take responsibility in this lifetime in order to make a better world, not for our children or grandchildren, but ironically the most important people to us: ourselves.
Global warming, pollution, crime...reincarnation will have impact on it all and much much more. Would you torture if you knew in the next lifetime you would be tortured? Would you hate, knowing next time you may be the one detested?
It is a simple notion of heaven and hell, but introduced in a completely different and most importantly realistic fashion.
If anything is worth a read in this lifetime, 'tis this book in and many others, same topic related books, whether personal or academic will simply depend on your level of interest.

Beyond Reincarnation: Experience Your Past Lives & Lives Between Lives by Joe H. Slate Average Rating: "I have studied reincarnation for several decades and used a variety of tools to attain past life information, so the subject of this book is not new to me. However, I think this book would offer something both to the novice on the subject of reincarnation as well as the veteran on the subject.
For the novice it provides adequate background, great experiences to draw the subject into your own life, practical advice to find information about your own past lives (as well as astral projection and contacting the spirit world), and great summaries at the end of each section.
For the veteran on the subject of reincarnation it offers another tool to past life regression that works wonderfully. I was able to use this method extremely well and even adopted part of Dr. Slate's `Past Life Corridor' into my own practices. After all these years of exploring reincarnation myself, it never came to my mind to explore life-between-life existence. What did I do between lives? Now I can explore this as well. I loved his sharing of personal experiences that brought everything he talked about to life and gave me a new perspective in viewing reincarnation. He related reincarnation to both the spirit realm and astral projection, which are two other areas he touches upon in his book.
The only two things I could find fault with in the book was that the beginning ran a bit slow and was somewhat redundant for me and I wanted more information about his technical reports. The fact that the book ran a bit slow at the beginning, I attribute mostly to the fact of being into the soup for so long. Many of these philosophies in the mind-body-spirit section had already been explored. The other thought that I noted as I read Dr. Slate's comments on his experiments was that I wanted more information about them. Dr. Slate does list in the back of the book his technical reports and the dates the experiments were performed; however I wanted to know how to access them. For instance, I was curious about how many people were involved in his experiments, the exact percentage that reacted this or that way, where they lived, what careers they had, how old they were, etc. It is obvious Dr. Slate has worked with a large variety of ages and occupations from the personal stories he relates, so the details of the experiments became something you wanted even more information about. It was just that inquiring minds want to know.
In conclusion, I must say there were sufficient points of interest even in the first section that I continued to read the book. In fact I finished this book in one day, especially drawn in by the detailed practical explanation of how to do past life regression on my own. I couldn't put the book down when it came to the personal life stories of Dr. Slate's family life and his experiences with friends, students, and colleagues. As for the technical reports, I know this book was not intended as a technical report itself, but to introduce the reader to some personal conclusions that he came to through his many decades of experience and research in the field of psychology and parapsychology.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone with an interest in reincarnation - novice or veteran - will get something practical to work with, will gather information they hadn't thought about before, and will have some great stories to share with others for inspiration.
