Journey of Souls: Case Studies of Life Between Lives by Michael Newton Average Rating: "As a reader of hundreds of books on the mystical, the occult, spirituality, etc. (Robert Monroe, Jane Roberts, Castaneda, Tibetan Book of the Dead, Lobsang Rampa, Theosophy, Yogananda, Chuang-Tzu, Dion Fortune, Eckankar, etc., just to give you an idea of what I brought to reading this book), I can only say that I was ASTONISHED by this book. There are so many questions answered here for which I've never gotten satisfactory answers: for example, how suicide affects karma, why humans are so often evil (and what happens to them when they die), what the ultimate goal and purpose of life is (stated everywhere, especially in Christianity) but for some reason this is the first explanation that has made any sense to me. This description of the nature of the universe and our place within it is fully compatible with discoveries in quantum physics, is simultaneously scientific and spiritual. I experienced profound shifts while reading this book- am changed by it. I cannot recommend it enough. If you buy only one book this year, make it this one!" Destiny of Souls: New Case Studies of Life Between Lives by Michael Newton Average Rating: "Michael Newton is one of a handful of published researchers who is adding to our knowledge of life between lives through the use of hypnosis. In coming decades, this kind of research should build and expand until we have a detailed understanding of life on the higher dimensions. In this book he continues his years of investigations, taking us further into an understanding of the soul's journey in and out of incarnation. Some topics covered in this book are (1) The various ways recently deceased souls try to make contact with those left behind, (2) How our spiritual energy is restored after a difficult incarnation or traumatic death, (3) How our between-life vocations can manifest in our earthly careers, (4) More on colors as indications of levels of attainment, (5) Spiritual names, (6) Much more on our soul groups, and how we interact between and during incarnations, (7) The "Council of Elders", a review panel of higher beings who help us gain insight on our lives just after we complete one, and just before we begin a new one, (8)How souls are "born" from higher levels into the level we spend time in between lives, (9) Extensive case studies of the "library" of past lives which souls study in between lifetimes. With Newton's work and those of similar investigators we are finally gaining an understanding of life in higher dimensions based on research and first-hand reports, rather than speculation and belief. Other than Newton's work, two other good books along this line are out of print, but generally not hard to find. One is LIFE BETWEEN LIVES (1986) by Whitton and Fisher. That book also follows the case-study approach. A second book is EXPLORING REINCARNATION (1987) by Hans Tendam. This book is a rigorous summary of the whole subject of past lives, life between lives, and the reliability of hypnosis as a tool of investigation. It's not a light read, but is the most in depth and thorough book on the subject to date, and essential reading for anyone who wishes to become well informed about it. A marvelous personal account of an accomplished "soul traveler" is THE TIGERS FANG by Paul Twitchell, whose account of the inner dimensions is remarkable." Many Lives, Many Masters: The True Story of a Prominent Psychiatrist, His Young Patient, and the Past-Life Therapy That Changed Both Their Lives by Brian L. Weiss Average Rating: "BACKGROUND: In 1986, I was involved in a severe accident which had left me comatose for 9 days. During the early part of my recovery, a dear friend suggested that I read this book after telling her about my memories from the time while in a coma.REVIEW: Dr. Weiss answered a big "why" question for me. Why was I struggling between the notions of One-life, One-soul vs. Many-lives, One-soul? Through his research (much of which is presented in a worthy bibliography in the book), he discovered that the wording of the Bible has been modified -- at the order of Church leadership. The story was quite grappling. I could not put this book down. I read it within 2 or 3 days. The experience through which I, myself, had just evolved compared too well with what I was now reading from another human for the first time in my (current) life; I was 35 at the time.It was also quite compelling. Questions -- hard questions -- which many of us struggle to answer are addressed in his book. Being from a Baptist Christian up-bringing, I found it hard to acknowledge the Truth as presented. However, my own experience prevented me from disspelling it in the sake of other "unquestioned" teachings which cannot hold up to research methods.Obviously, I believe that Many Lives, Many Masters is a great, yet simple, work. It excites me to think that when all has been deciphered from the Dead Sea Scrolls (and other ancient texts which have less political influence than the Bible), we will see that, indeed, Dr. Weiss has revealed to us the Truth -- Critically honest answers to the hard questions about our beings, both physical and spiritual." Only Love Is Real: A Story of Soulmates Reunited by Brian Weiss Average Rating: "Only Love is Real by Brian Weiss, is the third book by this incredible author. If I could, I would rate this book with 10 stars. Although one does not have to read his previous two books to read this book, he does make references throughout, but his explanations guide the reader and one is never confused or lost. Many Lives, Many Masters and Through Time Into Healing are his previous two and both are as riveting as this book. As with his other books, I could not put this book down either. The messages imparted in this book are numerous for the deep connection of twin souls. Weiss states, "Destiny dictates the meeting of soulmates. We *will* meet them. But what we decide to do after that meeting falls in the province of choice or free will. A wrong choice or a missed chance can lead to incredible loneliness and suffering. A right choice, an opportunity realized, can bring us to profound bliss and happiness."Weiss shares the story of two of his patients relating similar past lives, and he eventually connects the two and "intervenes" to introduce them. I am sure we have all had the experience of meeting someone and just "knowing" that we know them on a much deeper level, but we can't explain it. Those that come into our lives are either ready to meet their "other half" or as Weiss put it, they are "not awakened" yet. Weiss speaks throughout the book on the meaning and value of love and indeed, "only love is real." He urges us to forget and forgive our past mistakes, to learn from them and move on - to live fully in the present and not to worry about the future. This book is one incredible, beautiful lesson in love. Weiss urges the reader to listen to one's heart, as the ego has other agendas, as do other people. "There is someone special for everyone." How does one recognize a soulmate? - Weiss states it most profoundly, "When both recognize each other, no volcano could erupt with more passion. The energy released is tremendous. Passion in a relationship cannot be artificially created . . . . . but the chemistry has to be there from the start." Oh how so very true!!! "The person may not recognize the chemistry. The attraction is definitely there but the source of chemistry is not understood. It is delusional to believe that this passion, this soul recognition and attraction will be easily found again with another person. You do not run into a soulmate every day . . .The more awakened a couple is, the more likelihood of a decision based on love. When both partners are awakened, ecstasy is within their grasp."Weiss shares the past lives of both Elizabeth and Pedro and the reader is able to see them in different lifetimes, as different sexes, yet they are always together, learning soul lessons and coming back again and again to be together. As with his previous books, messages come from Elizabeth under hypnosis, from "higher conscious masters", imparting loving and profound messages to Weiss: "Love dissolves fear. You cannot be afraid when you are feeling love. When allowed to flow freely, love overcomes all obstacles." Both of their past lives are most fascinating and the lessons learned are indeed enlightening. I have used one of Weiss' past regression tapes and they are incredible and one can "see" as he states in the book. Weiss also share with the reader, his own experiences with his soulmate and wife, Carol, and the "obstacles" that they had to over come. "Destiny is persistent" as Weiss states and as seen in this book and as can be related in our lives, it doesn't give up - we only have to listen. This book is fascinating, thought-provoking and my highlighter was in overtime in reading!!! So many, many endearing and important thoughts on love and just being. I have read all of Weiss' books and it is so hard to believe that they can get any better, but it is true!!! Reading his books, one can experience a deep sense of healing and a profound infusion of love. This is not only a book about love, but also a book about hope. This is a "must have" have book and also one that you want to share with those in your life - "Listen to your heart, to your own intuitive wisdom when deciding about a gift of destiny, such as a soulmate. Destiny will deposit its gift directly at your feet, but what you subsequently decide to do with the gift is up to you. Your heart knows what you need. Other people have other agendas."A most excellent book - I have read it three times already!" Publisher: Grand Central Publishing | More reviews: amazon.com
Into the Light: Real Life Stories About Angelic Visits, Visions of the Afterlife, and Other Pre-Death Experiences by John Lerma Average Rating: "Dr. Lerma's book is amazing!! I don't think there are many medical professionals who can objectively bring together the scientifc and spiritual components of death. I've read other books about this, but what I like here is that Dr. Lerma's research came from firsthand experience with his hospice patients. The commonality of experience across so many patients really made me wonder about the afterlife. I always dismissed this stuff as hallucination. Now, I am not so sure." One Last Time: A Psychic Medium Speaks to Those We Have Loved and Lost by John Edward Average Rating: "This book is great. It help people overcome the lose of love ones. I recommend it highly along with the book an Encounter with A Prophet." Publisher: Berkley Trade | More reviews: amazon.com
Life Between Lives: Hypnotherapy for Spiritual Regression by Michael Newton Average Rating: "Dr. Michael Newton has written another fascinating book about Life Between Life therapy (LBL) that I recommend for both therapists and non therapists. In this book, Dr. Newton discusses the technique for helping clients access the spiritual world that we inhabit between lives. Reading this book made me want to visit a LBL practitioner for my own LBL therapy. There are many cases studies and examples that I found intriguing and several sections I read more than once. I highly recommend this hard to find book to anyone interested in the life of our souls." Publisher: Llewellyn Publications | More reviews: amazon.com
Many Mansions: The Edgar Cayce Story on Reincarnation (Signet) by Gina Cerminara Average Rating: "I still remember how I 'accidentally' discovered this book in the summer of 1972 when I was supposed to do my education dissertation.I spent days carefully reading Many Mansions and at the end of it my whole perspective on life had changed. Dr. Cerminara is logical and thorough.
Very few people can read this with an open mind and not be changed by its world view.
There was also a personal 'happening' with the book. While I was re-reading it a second time in 1973 it disappeared for a few days.
Later my father returned it with the laconic comment:" She's right. We live many lives."
I was surprised because we were a Catholic family and I didn't want to cause waves with my new found views.
In December of that year my father died. I was able to accept his death as one more journey since I felt reassured by his comment. I knew that he was alive but in another dimension. This thought was rewarded by a very vivid dream soon after his death.
One night I dreamt him holding a candle. He told me I should light one to symbolise the continuation of life. Then he disappeared in a rushing wind.
I sudddenly awoke to find the window near to my bed wide open. I had carefully closed it before I had gone to bed because my mother had reminded me to do so. Also a prized framed photo of my father lay broken on the floor.I felt that somehow my father had reached out to confirm what he had said about Cerminara's book.
I think many will be comforted when they read this book. The examples of the subtlety and complexity of the law of karma will stun many.
Dr.Cerminara allowed me to look beyond many experiences I have had in this life and intuit what karmic lessons I needed to learn.
I am delighted that this book is still available. Reading it could change your view of life and its purpose.
I also read two other books that Cerminara did using the Cayce readings. They were 'Many Lives,Many Loves' and 'The World Within'. If you find them you could continue the interesting journey into the world of the Akashic records, karma and reincarnation. " Publisher: Signet | More reviews: amazon.com
Old Souls: Compelling Evidence from Children Who Remember Past Lives by Thomas Shroder Average Rating: "If someone told me that a fairly mainstream journalist was going to travel with Dr. Ian Stevenson, the world's leading scientific researcher on reincarnation, to investigate the scientific proof for reincarnation, and what would I expect, "Old Souls" would fit quite well. I would suspect tnat the book would show more humanity than Dr. Stevenson's rather dry accounts of his cases, but most importantly, if a conventional, rational thinking person needs to travel to various countries to find "proof" of reincarnation to convince them, it is unlikely that they would ever be convinced that reincarnation is a fact. "Old Souls" is easy and pleasureable to read, and I agree with tne reviewers who compliment Mr. Shroder on the travelogues of his and Dr. Stevenson's tales in Lebanon and India. He very effectively describes the conditions in the two countries, clearly and honestly, and conveys both the terrible effect that many wars have had on Lebanon, as well as the rather gruesome and awful poverty in India. The author also depicts the drama of meeting people in the flesh who can clearly remember what I believe is a fact, their lives in other bodies. There are several cases in "Old Souls" that I feel would convince anyone with an open mind that reincarnation is true. "Old Souls" in a way is an attempt to vindicate Dr. Stevenson, who comes across as a very noble, persistent, but frustrated scientist, largely ignored by the mainstream scientific community despite thousands of solid cases in many countries which point to reincarnation. And in a way the books succeeds in vindicating Dr. Stevenson. But unfortunately Mr. Shroder himself, typical of people indoctrinated in cultures which reject reincarnation, can never seem to accept it, and his objections are also the same reasons we hear over and over, e.g., since he can't remember past lives, he can't accept it; since science, which he obviously accepts as the arbiter of truth, cannot "prove" reincarnation, it can't be true; and so on. I found this aspect of the book quite tiresome. I must wonder if there can ever be "scientific proof" of reincarnation, the soul, Karma and so on. And I must ask, "Who cares?" I certainly do not, I do not consider scientific materialism the arbiter of ANY truths when it comes to metaphysical questions. So as I understand it, "old souls" like the author's do indeed keep reincarnating until they learn that evolving as souls through multiple human experiences is indeed our true mission. I can't "prove" that either. There are simply some truths that we must come to by non-rational methods and experiences, and it's really sad that rational proof is the only way so many people can decide on the veracity of crucial matters. God is an experience, not an experiment." Publisher: Simon & Schuster | More reviews: amazon.com
Soul Visioning: Clear the Past, Create Your Future by Susan Wisehart Average Rating: "This book is for anyone who feels totally STUCK and TRAPPED in his or her life or any therapist, friend or family member who wants to help such a person. In fact, this would be an extraordinary book to use for a family or group of friends to change their lives together. Soul Visioning is unlike any other book, tape or program on manifestation that I have ever experienced. It is so far beyond THE SECRET and that genre of manifestation offerings that it cannot be compared. First of all - as any of you who have worked diligently at manifesting your dreams hopes and prayers know - they do not always work out even if you "do everything right". This book explains in meticulous detail - not only why this happens - but it leads you by the hand, step-by-step, to the solution. In a nutshell - if we try to manifest our future from our fears, our desires, our fantasies and all the illusions that we tell us will make us truly happy, we will never be successful or permanently satisfied. We need to access the deepest, wisest and all knowing part of ourselves - OUR VERY SOUL - the part of us that KNOWS what we were born to do - before we can achieve and manifest our truth, our future, the very purpose for our birth - which is to be fulfilled and happy. A fascinating fact to illustrate this is that the book states that fully 95% of everything we think and do is based on our SUBCONSCIOUS mind and that only 5% of what we think and do is AWAKE, AWARE and CONSCIOUS. The book helps us to CONNECT and MAINTAIN THAT CONNECTION with the 5% that SHOULD be in charge.
This books represents not only 30 years of the authors personal experience but it is the most thorough book I have ever read. It duplicates the experience of going through one of her personal seminars. It gives you everything that you need to "do it yourself" from free down loadable audio tapes to guided meditations, work sheets and detailed descriptions. It is filled with substance and case studies, testimonials and personal experiences too numerous to mention. If you are trying to decide which book or program on manifestation to buy - look no further. This is the one you will start with and this is the one you will end with.
