Return From Heaven: Beloved Relatives Reincarnated Within Your Family

Return From Heaven: Beloved Relatives Reincarnated Within Your Family

by Carol Bowman

Average Rating:Average rating of 5/5

"This is one of those books that make a difference. It teaches you about reincarnation. There are about three dozen cases of reborn children described here.I am not taken in by a lot of nonsense. I have an astronomical IQ and a scientific mind, and I am convinced by this author and this book. I threw another book on this subject in the garbage where I felt it belonged (the best seller by Beatrice Eadie) but this Carol Bowman book is a keeper. If you think that you know better, that reincarnation is impossible, well, you're not as all-knowing as you think you are.I used to say that I didn't know what position to take on the abortion issue because we don't know what effect an abortion has on the baby. Is it destroyed? No it isn't. The baby is just as alive in Heaven as it was before. It has just been denied the opportunity to be born in that woman at that time. It can try again later or go to someone else.On the other hand, sometimes the baby changes its mind and decides not to be born. That results in a miscarriage or stillborn.Children between the ages of two and seven sometimes have memories of their last life. They'll remember "when I was big before" or "my other mommy". Often, the people in the past life are also in the present life or in the same family. You can literally be your own grandpa. You can be both your mother's mom and your mother's son. There may be a physical connection between the two lives. You may be born with scars or deformities similar to those inflicted on your prior body at the time of death. You may look the same in both lives.Isn't it wonderful that truths like these can be found in your local bookstore or here on the net."

What Happens When We Die?: A Groundbreaking Study into the Nature of Life and Death

What Happens When We Die?: A Groundbreaking Study into the Nature of Life and Death

by Sam Parnia

Average Rating:Average rating of 3/5

"This book should be read by anyone who expects to die sometime. Others have no need for it. We do not know when, or how, but no sane person denies the inevitability of their eventual demise. We are (probably) the only species to posses this bit of information about our collective future. Knowledge of death comes in bits and pieces when we are children. It undergoes a period of stout denial in adolescence and young adulthood, when we are well aware that others might die, but not necessarily us. For millennia governments have sent people in such a state of denial to fight to the death against other youth, from other countries, who are equally or more deluded that their own youngsters. Ever so slowly the idea of our own death makes an occasional appearance into our consciousness as young people, and then such appearances accelerate in frequency as we age, to the point that old people think about death on a daily, or even hourly, basis; and yet we know little about the process itself, and even less about what happens afterwards, if anything. This book does not have all the answers, but it certainly poses these questions very nicely.

Sam Parnia belongs to a group of physicians who have studied the reports made by patients after having been technically dead, but who have recovered and told takes of wondrous events that took place during that apparent period of no oxygen, no heartbeat, and no life: many patients report floating above the frantic medics who are trying to resuscitate them, they tell about conversations that happened while they we unconscious, and speak about experiencing a great calm as they float through a tunnel towards a marvelous light; they mention being greeted by long dead relatives, and then about being informed that it is not yet their time, that they must go back. They suddenly awake in a hospital bed, reluctant to tell about their adventures lest they be called crazy. These experiences were first studied methodically by Dr. Ray Moody, who published a book about them in the late 70's. Dr. Parnia acknowledges Dr. Moody's contributions, but takes his studies further; after all, medical technology has advanced dramatically since then, and at present there are machines that detect brain activities as a functions of oxygen usage or glucose consumption. Visualization of the brain, a rarity in the 70's, is commonplace with new computerized scanning devices.

Dr. Parnia is a modest but extremely well informed man, and his book contains both dramatic anecdotes of people in Near Death Experiences (NDE), and meticulous accounts of the anatomical and neurological changes that take place during the process of dying. As a good scientist he is neutral about the religious implications of possible continued existence following the physical death of the body; his interest is trying to study methodically the questions raised by NDE. Surely lack of nutrients and oxygen will result in the death of neurons and consequent brain damage. Yet he narrates the case of a young man was declared dead after a long period of resuscitation attempts by a hospital team. His brain and heart monitors showed flat lines, indicative of no activity and ultimately of death. He remained in this dead state for about fifteen minutes while the doctor wrote his chart notes in the nursing station; but unsure of the total number of vials of adrenaline that had been used, he returned to the man's room and found him to be slightly pinker than when he had left him. He called the resuscitation team back, and they managed to bring the patient to normal functions and to stabilize him. Surely, they all believed, this person would have suffered massive brain damage after such a long deprivation of brain oxygen; but on the contrary, when the man returned a week later to thank the staff he was fully recovered and not obviously damaged in any way.

The book is written in simple language that will not stump an averagely intelligent reader. It is free from intellectually insulting logical faults, such as those offered by religions. It loses one star for not having a unified bibliography, but rather offers its references on a chapter by chapter basis: an unnecessary (an uncomfortable for the reader) way of presenting source material in these days of computers. The substance of this book is important to all of us, and therefore WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE DIE is highly recommended."

Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation: Second Edition, Revised and Enlarged

Twenty Cases Suggestive of Reincarnation: Second Edition, Revised and Enlarged

by Ian Stevenson

Average Rating:Average rating of 4.5/5

"Well, well, well...no stars are enough for this book. It seems the word belief does not exist in Dr Stevenson's dictionary , and with clinical detachment, he has investigated each and every of the 20 cases. He has avoided philosophy and religion talk etc and does not have his own agenda which he his trying to promote. There are many books on reincarnation written by those who want to make a quick buck, or those promoting a particular religious thought or simply to become popular and appear on talk shows and then charge people (gullible) on an hourly basis. Dr Stevenson is not driven by any such factor. Reading his methodolgy, he has actually gone about the research as any skeptic would. He has not believed the case story and then looked for evidence that would support such a case story, he has looked for the evidence any skeptic would. The presentation of evidence gathered is fantastic showing the corroboration of each evidence. The best thing I liked about his research was that he actually attempts to rule out any fraud in each case story. Unbiased and honest. The use of the word "suggestive" speaks for his style used in the book throughout. He does not attempt to force any philosophical, religious thought down the reader's throat. You are free to make your own conclusions....and yes, it is DARN RIGHT CONVINCING !"

Earth Angels: A Pocket Guide for Incarnated Angels, Elementals, Starpeople, Walk-Ins, and Wizards

Earth Angels: A Pocket Guide for Incarnated Angels, Elementals, Starpeople, Walk-Ins, and Wizards

by Doreen Virtue

Average Rating:Average rating of 4/5

"Most individuals are born into earthly existence to struggle and grow through lives of primarily earthly focus. However, there is a sizable minority of souls whose focus, and origin, is not of this earth. These are the Earth Angels as Dr. Virtue terms them. They are not here primarily for material and mundane concerns. Rather, they are the light workers put here for higher reasons- to teach, to protect, to heal. This well produced little pocket guide is a well organized introduction to all categories of "Earth Angel":
1) The actual incarnated angels who come from the ranks of the beings historically termed angels (to heal and serve), 2) the incarnated elementals who originate in the realm of nature spirits (to protect the natural realm- and enjoy themselves while doing so), 3) the star people from extraterrestrial, if not extra-dimensional, origins (to heal, help, and keep our civilization from committing species-wide suicide), 4) the walk-ins from many realms (those who take the opportunity to make use of a life and body that would have otherwise been wasted) and 5) the wise ones with old souls and many previous incarnations as sorceresses, priestesses, wizards, or shamans (to teach and practice the mystic and magical.)You know deep down whether your primary focus, your center, lies in this world or the next. Yet, both the test in this book, as well as the nicely done descriptions of each of the specific categories serve as reassuring validation. And there is a reason that so many of us are here at this time. As the author points out, the old systems such as governments, corporations and churches are beginning to fall. Teachers, guides, councilors are needed to light the path towards a better way."

Eyes Of An Angel: Soul Travel, Spirit Guides, Soul Mates, And The Reality Of Love

Eyes Of An Angel: Soul Travel, Spirit Guides, Soul Mates, And The Reality Of Love

by Paul Elder

Average Rating:Average rating of 4.5/5

"Eyes of an Angel a remarkable book authored by an equally remarkable man, is a very accurate portrayal of its subtitle; Soul Travel, Spirit Guides, Soul Mates, And The Reality Of Love ". The author is Paul Elder who has previously variously been a television news reporter and the mayor of a Canadian city. Paul now works with the highly respected Skip Atwater of the famous and justifiably highly respected Monroe Institute, teaching Remote Viewing among other very important inner abilities.

Eyes of an Angel chronicles the experiences of a man and his own unique journey to inner enlightenment through two near death experiences, and how through these profound inner experiences and his close involvement with The Monroe Institute, becomes increasingly aware of the "greater inner realities", and which experiences changes his life forever.

There are many books available on the subject of Out of Body Experiences, including those from Hampton Roads who are also the publishers of several excellent books on exploring the inner realities, especially from authors who are, or have been associated with The Monroe Institute, but Eyes of an Angel includes one major and extremely important ingredient that most books on these important matters are lacking. That ingredient is Inspiration. In order to succeed at any of these inner abilities, and that certainly includes Astral Projection and Out of Body Experiences, a major factor is motivation. The subconscious Mind must accept your desire to experience these abilities to such an extent that they are brought into reality without the logical, ego driven, questioning conscious mind filtering these abilities out as "impractical". The conscious mind wants you to remain focussed on the physical world in order to fulfil its own ego oriented material desires, and will have nothing of this "inner reality stuff". You can practice these abilities forever, but unless your subconscious mind fully accepts your desire, it will not be brought into your experiential reality, and Out of Body exeriences will remain something that you just read about other people enjoying and gainning profound benefits from. This applies to everything without exception, and is accordingly the main reason why people experience negative things by impressing the thought on the subconscious mind.

As the owner and adminstrator of the largest Metaphysical and Out of Body Experience forums on the Internet, The Astral Pulse at astralpulse.com/forums, I have the privelege to meet and communicate with tens of thousands of people who are interested in and practice these profoundly important abilities, and in the course of this I have read many books, but I have to say that Eyes of an Angel is without doubt the most inspirational Out of Body Experience book I have ever had the privilege of reading, and I can most honestly say that I have read this particular book more than once which I very rarely usually do.

Eyes of an Angel is brilliantly written from start to finish, and really is a book that you cannot put down. This book is at once inspirational, motivational and compelling as well as being a complete reflection of the inner realities. You will not find any fantasy or esoteric, occult, mystical "mumbo jumbo" within the pages of this book, only the amazing life of a genuine, humble and intelligent man who tells you everything with humilty, sincerity and Unconditional love, for the benefit of the reader and not just for the sake of writing about these things.

If you are even remotely serious about gaining Out of Body Experiences, or vivid insights into what you might expect from such experiences, then this book is compulsory reading before you even start to engage in any formal Out of Body techniques. Even if you are already a seasoned "traveller", Eyes of an Angel will add to your inner experiences in no small measure.

If you are wondering what to treat yourself to this holiday season or indeed at anytime, because it is never too late to seek and experience the truth, then look. But don't just treat yourself to one copy, why not buy 10 copies and give them as seasonal gifts to your loved ones and others who are seeking more than just a narrow focus on this material, physical world.

I highly recommend "Eyes of an Angel", purchase it today!

Return of the Revolutionaries: The Case for Reincarnation and Soul Groups Reunited

Return of the Revolutionaries: The Case for Reincarnation and Soul Groups Reunited

by Walter Semkiw

Average Rating:Average rating of 4/5

"A prior reviewer criticized Return of the Revolutionaries because many of the subjects were famous in past lives. In truth, most people are not famous in prior lifetimes. In researching objective evidence of reincarnation, though, for a person to be found in a historical record, they must have had some impact on society. As such, there is a selection bias in cases that can be researched. If the person was not of some repute in a prior era, there would not be a historic record.

Several independently researched cases in Return of the Revolutionaries do not involve famous people. These include the cases of Penney Peirce/Alice Cary, Robert Snow/Carroll Beckwith and cases researched by Ian Stevenson, MD, at the University of Virginia. These Stevenson cases include Suzanne Ghanem/Hannah Monsour and Daniel Jurdi/Rashid Kaddege.

Further, Neale Donald Walsh, author of the Conversations with God series, is identified as a little known minister in Boston. A spirit guide channeled through Kevin Ryerson made this past life match involving Mr. Walsch. A record of this minister was subsequently found and facial features and personality traits matched. Mr. Walsch subsequently agreed to be featured as a reincarnation case in Revolutionaries.

Rather than criticizing the use of a medium in this work, one must conclude that the number of seemingly accurate matches made by Kevin Ryerson's spirit guide makes this spirit guide a valuable resource. Only close minded individuals, who do not look at the reincarnation cases with an open mind and heart, would summarily reject the use of someone like Kevin Ryerson.

There are reasons why people believe they are someone famous, and why psychics tell people they were someone famous, in prior lifetimes. These include the following:

1. Landmark Associations-Most people who think that they are someone famous, or who have been told by a psychic that they are a famous personage, are not the famous person in question. Rather, the famous person acts as a landmark for the era. For example, someone who resonates with Cleopatra was not necessarily the queen, but rather, this person may have simply lived in Egypt during that time, they may have been a servant to Cleopatra, or perhaps even a relative.

Since the person or psychic cannot come up with the name of this individual in the past lifetime, the name that represents the lifetime symbolically, i.e., Cleopatra, is drawn upon. In general, getting accurate names and historical data is the most difficult thing to get in regressions and in psychic readings. Images and general location, time of a past lifetime are easier to access.

2. Guidance Incarnations--People do have spiritual guides, who can influence people on the earth plane. Generally, guides have a karmic relationship with the person. In prior lifetimes, the spirit guide may have been a family member, teacher or close friend when both individuals were incarnate. For example, an individual may have been an art student of Leonardo da Vinci. In this lifetime, da Vinci may be acting as a guide to this person, who is again an artist. The person my get inspiration from da Vinci and even think he or she is da Vinci, but it is not the case. In a true reincarnation case, the person would have to look like Da Vinci, have the same personality traits, passions and karmic group around them.

A reviewer also argues that the research is not scientific. The reviewer failed to mention that the limitations of the research are discussed in the book and the intent is that research involving hard science will follow. In addition, it should be noted that several people of genius caliber, including neurosurgeon Norm Shealy, who invented the TENS unit, Kary Mullis, who won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry, and Dean Brown, a physicist who worked with Albert Einstein at Princeton, support the reincarnation research found in Revolutionaries.

Finally, one must keep in mind that great social change and benefit that objective evidence of reincarnation can bring. This evidence shows that people can change religious, ethic and racial affiliation from lifetime to lifetime. If people realize that one can be born Jewish in one lifetime and Muslim or Christian in another, then conflicts based on these differences would dissolve.

A case in point involves Barbro Karlen, who has had memories since childhood of being Anne Frank (the Anne Frank/Barbro Karlen case can be reviewed at www.johnadams.net). Barbro was born into a Christian family in contemporary times. I like to point out that if 60 years ago, the German people knew that one could be born Jewish in one lifetime and Christian in another, then there could never have been a Holocaust.

This is why research on objective evidence of reincarnation is so important and why it will eventually transform the world in a positive way.

We Live Forever: The Real Truth About Death

We Live Forever: The Real Truth About Death

by P. M. H. Atwater

Average Rating:Average rating of 4/5

"What is the afterlife like? That's what I want to know. I want to read anything that will tell me.

This book leaves me wanting a lot more. It touches on the question, but doesn't give enough substance.

It tells us that there are a dozen heavens, a dozen hells, and many realms that are finer than heaven. That is the closest it comes to telling us what the afterlife is like. But that is clearly not enough.

How do you know there are a dozen hells? Describe each one. Make us feel what it is like to be there. The same for the heavens. Make each one of them real for us. Make them so real that we will be able to recognize which one suits us best. It's too easy to say there are a dozen of them. That means nothing to me. It's just words without a real connection.

And if there are a dozen of them, what makes you think that you will see your loved ones in the one you are going to. They may just as well be in another one.

We're told that there are eleven levels in the afterlife. The ninth is "the end of manifest vibratory creation". The tenth is "the void, nonvibratory or pure consciousness". The eleventh, the highest, is "full at-one-ment and entry into states of consciousness beyond human comprehension".

Tell me something. Is this supposed to mean something to me? What the hell is the end of manifest vibratory creation? Do you understand what I'm saying? This book is throwing words at me, and they don't mean anything to me. I want to feel and understand this.

And don't start telling me it is beyond human comprehension. You are writing a book to be read by humans. We comprehend things. Make us feel it. Get beyond occult-speak and make it a real and meaningful experience for us.

The problem seems to be that the author really doesn't know, and the thousands of people she interviewed really don't know, what the afterlife is like. But with thousands of interviews with people who have been there, I would hope for more, and I would expect more.

Contrast this book with the first two books by Michael Newton, called Journey of Souls and Destiny of Souls. Those books are full of detail on the afterlife. There is so much more "meat and potatoes" in those two books. They fill you up a lot better.

My biggest problem with the Michael Newton books is that nobody else wrote a book corroborating his findings. Detail is there in abundance. I'm waiting for one of his proteges to write a book that expands on his, and gives us a lot of new material.

The Newton books also make me feel more empowered. They make the afterlife seem like a place where we actually have some control over what happens. It's a place I can't wait to arrive at and enjoy. As for the afterlife in We Live Forever, it feels too impersonal and unsatisfying to me. I didn't even get one good view of one of the heavens. Why would it be meaningful to me to be told that there are 12 of them, and I don't know what any one of them is like.

The really frustrating part of it is that I don't think the author knows either. If she does, what do I have to do to get her to tell me? If she knows a lot more than she revealed in this book, I feel like shouting at her that she really has to consult with me before writing any more books, because she is missing the boat.

If she really knows something, her next book would be a hundred times better than this one if it is simply an interview with me questioning her. I'd bring her out, and elicit the important information. That's why this book leaves me unsatisfied."
