Soul Prints: Your Path to Fulfillment by Marc Gafni Average Rating: "Marc gafni is a rabbi, a kabbalists, and a wise teacher of the spiritual tradition- But must importantly before all of this things he is a warm, joyful, hopeful, brilliant, passionate and striving human being."Soul prints" is not a book. It is a journey. A journey to the most exciting, beautiful, funny, some times sad and lonely, wondrous, deep place- Our soul.!!! ..."
Kabbalistic Astrology: And the Meaning of Our Lives by Rav P. S. Berg Average Rating: "I found this book interesting, but not very deep. I thought it could have done a whole lot more on personality tendencies. I thought the most useful aspect of this book was that it teaches not everything is "set in stone" but a tendency to be aware of should its influences give rise. ..."
Ecstatic Kabbalah by David A. Cooper Average Rating: "I have sat several meditation retreats with the author, so I came to this book having already encountered many of these techniques and ideas in a practical setting. While there is no substitute for person-to-person instruction, you can get pretty close with this book/CD.
A warning: if you are looking for the sort of pseudo-Kabbalah being peddled by Rav Berg and the Kabbalah Center, this book is not for you. ..."
The Prayer of the Kabbalist: The 42-Letter Name of God by Yehuda Berg Average Rating: The Kabbalist prayer of Ana Becho'ach invokes the 42-Letter Name of God, connecting to the undiluted force of creation. Kabbalists believe that tapping into this connection through this prayer allows anyone to make a fresh start. The magnitude of this meditation cannot be underestimated — consisting of seven sentences with six letters each, the 42-Letter Name is considered to be one of the most powerful prayers in the universe. ...
Invoking Angels by David Cooper Average Rating: "You wouldn't think a title on angels would also come from a Rabbi scholar, but the teachings of the Torah and other sacred texts do support the presence of angels in Jewish belief, and the inspirational INVOKING ANGELS provides a program of daily meditations and prayers to help both Jewish and non-Jewish people in their efforts to connect spirituality with empowerment. ..."
God in Your Body: Kabbalah, Mindfulness and Embodied Spiritual Practice by Jay Michaelson Average Rating: "For years I have been involved in physical things, tai chi, jogging, basketball, baseball, and then as I got into more "spiritual things" the dichotomy emerged; mind and body are two oppossing forces. Try as we may many taught, we must overcome the body to reach the spiritual. My interest in Judaism as I matured caused me to explore that in fact there are many physical pathways to Jewish spiritual practices. ..."
Window of the Soul: The Kabbalah of Rabbi Isaac Luria by James David Dunn Average Rating: "(This review is based on reading the 30-odd pages of this book that Amazon makes available on-line.)
As with any translation of esoteric literature, the author of this book had difficulties in choosing understandable English phrases for the technical language of the original. This almost-literal translation is often undecipherable unless you already understand the Hebrew context from which it was translated.
This book badly needs footnotes -- lots of them.
The first part of Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan's "Innerspace" is perhaps a good alternative (or companion) to this book. ..."
